In a deliberate attempt to push the boundaries of my own practice, I set my sights on a final university project that would live outside the habituated comfort of screen and paper.

I designed this mural for Lynch’s Hub, a small hospitality business situated on the Newcastle foreshore. Around the time of installation, there was city-wide concern for small business owners due to a period of heavy construction in the CBD. This was my 8x5m contribution to revitalising the area and bringing people back to their business.

Being inspired by a growing community of Australian letterers and mural artists, I also had dreams of painting some huge ass letters. So I did.
